A long time ago (as in a couple years in the beauty community lol) the Michael Todd True Organics Intensive Organic Cream Eye Treatment was talked about by SO many YouTubers, bloggers, and MakeupAlley…so when it went on sale on LivingSocial for around $25 with the sonic applicator, I decided to give it a try.
Let’s talk about the packaging first. The eye cream is housed in a sleek purple tube with an applicator you press down to get the product. While I appreciate that this is more hygienic than an open top container, there are a few things I don’t like about this packaging: 1) The lid pops off SO easily….as in, if this get bumped in almost any way, the lid comes off..negating the hygienic tube and applicator, 2) You can’t see how much product is left, meaning you won’t know when you are about to run out, and 3) It’s pretty bulky for an eye cream.
Now getting on to the formula and performance of the product…This is a very thin slippery formula, so a whole pump is WAY too much for even both eyes. I suggest half a pump for both. This moisturizes an average to a slight less than average amount, which may be in part due to the fact that it doesn’t sink it. I make sure to apply this long before I will actually be laying my head on the pillow because I would like to get as many of the benefits as possible before some of it wipes off on my pillows at night.
Although I do notice a slight tingling a few minutes after application, I don’t see any tightening or brightening. I’ve use other cheaper eye creams that provide more benefits than this VERY expensive one.
Honestly, I have only been using this product to use it up. I don’t see enough benefits from this to recommend it for even the discounted price if you find it on LivingSocial or Groupon. And the hunt for an eye cream continues…
